Most of my family and friends know at this point, but to any one who doesn't know on the 21st of February I am going to Belgium! I have decided that I am going to try and pursue a job in teaching English abroad. Coming home from Barcelona I really had no idea what I wanted to do as the next step in my life. Part of me wanted to try and find an internship in a museum or a gallery which is something I have always wanted to do but the other part of me wanted to keep traveling and explore new places. And then there was also the fact that I had met this wonderful, sweet boy who lives back in Gent that I just couldn't get out of my head. So what's a newly graduated, newly in love girl to do? She follows her heart of course! I have known quite a few people who have taught English abroad and have loved it. It is a great way to be able to find a job and live in a different country while also be able to travel on your time off. So I did some research and am now currently taking classes to get my teaching certificate through the TEFL Academy. I am taking my classes online and while I am in Belgium I am hoping to contact some schools and work on my resume to try and find a job teaching! I do not have an exact time frame of how long I will be in Belgium at this point, but I am hoping for at least a couple months if all goes well. Then I will most likely come back to the states for part of the summer to see my family and friends all around the US and then hopefully by fall I will have a job and move to Belgium permanently! There are still lots of details to work out and things that could go wrong, but at the moment I am very excited to start this next chapter of my life and see where this next adventure takes me.
Being that last weekend was my last full weekend here in Colorado, me and my two best friends decided to take a little trip up to the mountains to a little ski town called Steamboat where my friend Ella's family has a cabin. We did not realize how much snow was going to be up there! The town it self  got a few feet and then up at the cabin the snow was practically up to our shoulders! It was a bit intense at times trying to navigate the roads in our little volvo and trudging through the mounds of snow to get all of our stuff into the cabin. But luckily we are three strong and able women who can handle anything! It happened to be Winter Carnival weekend so there were lots of festivities like ski jumping, fireworks, and parades happening through the town all weekend. Here are a few photos from our weekend:
