Spring time!
Hello all! Spring has definitely arrived here in Gent, it has been in the 60's all week which has made studying a bit of a challenge. This is the last week of my online classes, but they have given us the option to do two more weeks of "extra" work if we want to so that we can put more hours on our resume so I think I will be doing that. I have also finally found a school to volunteer in which is very exciting. It is as the International School of Gent and I am in the pre-primary class with kids ages 4 and 5. They are from all over the world and are adorable! Their english is also surprisingly good for how young they are, there are a few younger ones whose english is still not great but they pretty much all understand what the teacher is telling them. I am basically just watching them when they are playing outside during lunch or helping them during group activities such as cutting out easter bunny baskets! Other than that I am mostly just observing the teacher and how she interacts with the students. I have only been two days this week and these next two weeks they have off for easter, but after that hopefully I will be going back at least a few days a week. I hope it is finally warming up for everyone back in the US, here are just a few photos from around town and a cool antique shop Simon showed me. I have been slacking a bit on the photo taking, I will try to do better in the coming week!
