Local Adventures
The past few days some friends and I have gone on a few local adventures around Barcelona which have been really great. A few days ago we went to the top of Tibidabo mountain, which consists of taking the metro to the tram to a bus to a finicular....but is well worth the long journey. At the top is a beautiful church and an amusement park for kids! It also has by far the best few of the whole city.
Then yesterday my friend Caroline and I journeyed up to the labyrinth park of Barcelona which is located a bit outside of the main city which is kind of nice. It was much quieter and a lot less people around. We also saw a beautiful sunset over the park which we then realized was one of the first sunsets we had seen since we had been here. The sun sets over the mountains and the way the city is laid out is hard to get a good view of the sunset, so it was quite refreshing to see that. The labyrinth itself was really cool, its located on some huge estate that Im guessing used to belong to a very rich family but is now a public park. While we were winding through the labyrinth there was definitely a few moments of panic and that feeling that we might just die in here, but luckily after many failed attempts we found our way out.
We have also finally planned some really great weekend trips! This weekend my roommate Robyn and i will be going to Munich for Oktoberfest which should be insane. But then we also booked a trip to Paris and Budapest for two weekends in November. In between that we have a weekend to the south of France and a longer trip to Morocco with our school program. All of sudden it feels like we have no free weekends here in Barcelona and before I know it i will be flying back to the states. But if anyone has any suggestions of places to go in any of these cities/countries please comment or email me!

Mount Tibadabo from Joey's story on friends! That was the most exciting thing in this post, besides the fact that one of your busy weekends is the weekend of November 27
