Rivers & Roads

This past weekend Simon and I took a mini trip out to the coast of Belgium where his parents have an apartment right next to the sea! As much as I love Gent it was nice to get out of town for a few days and just relax in the nice ocean air. We brought his family dog Pluche with us, it is hard to say who had more fun us or Pluche. The town the apartment is in, De Panne, is the town furthest South on the coast which means it is very close to France; so close in fact that we walked there! It took about two hours each way but it was just down the beach from us and the weather was so great that we thought why not? We also took a small hike through the dunes which are located a bit behind the beach. For some reason they were a bit flooded in places so we had to take our shoes off and get a little dirty but they were very beautiful. We also attempted to do some kite flying, but the wind was not cooperating whenever we got the kite out of course, but its the thought that counts.
